Favorite activity outside of band: Sleeping and looking at dogs.

Veteran tip for band camp/school: take care of yourself! Eat well and stay on top of your schoolwork! Just be yourself, everything will fall into place!

Hogwarts house? Pottermore sorted me into Ravenclaw so no complaints here…

Who would you want to write the biography of your life? I’d choose Maya Angelou to write my biography because I really like how she wrote her own.

Name: Gabrielle Sanft

Year: Sophomore

Major: Music Education

Hometown: Port Washington, NYGabby Sanft.jpg

Position and Section: Flute Section Leader

Favorite thing about marching band: Without a doubt, the people. I have never met so many welcoming and genuine people within one organization. The band is such a tight-knit community, and the people are what make all of the other things I love about band as incredible as they are.

Favorite activity outside of band: Belting out the words to every single show tune and Disney song ever written. Or playing with cats. That’s a hard one.

Veteran tip for band camp/school: Don’t be overwhelmed after the first couple days of band camp. It will seem like a lot, but once you start meeting people and getting into the swing of things, the days will become infinitely easier and you will have the time of your life!

Who do you want to write the biography of your life? William Shakespeare

What’s your guilty pleasure song? “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The song never fails to put me in a good mood on any sort of day, after I belt out the lyrics and make an absolute fool out of myself, of course.

What Hogwarts house are you? Hufflepuff (Although I so wish I could split myself in half (you choose if you take that metaphorically or literally) and be in Ravenclaw too)
