Color Guard, Drumline, and Baritones… Oh my!!

T-5 days until Band Camp! And, congrats for making it to the end of the section leader spotlight posts! In this final post, we will share with you all some of the color guard, drumline, and baritone section leaders. So, read below to learn all about them! With just a few days left, make sure you get acquainted with the 2017 part placement music. If you should have received it and didn’t, or you’re not sure if you should have gotten it, make sure to reach out to your section leaders.

Major: Marketing & Management

Section: Color Guard

Favorite thing about marching band: Traditions! Pre-game breakfasts at Starbucks, post-game trips to Varsity, and everything in-between! Also making 200+ friends before school even started doesn’t hurt 😊

Favorite activity outside marching band: Spending money I don’t have at Target and watching waaay to much reality TV

Veteran tip for band camp/school: Be open to everything! College is the time to take that class you’ve always wanted to or join the club you always wished your high school had. It goes by so fast so make the most of your time here!

Describe your section in 6 words: Crazy, But, The, Really, Good, Kind
What’s your guilty pleasure song? Literally any Ke$ha song from 2010. No shame.

Favorite thing about marching band: All the inside jokes and spending time with everyone!

Favorite activity outside marching band: Playing Sims and binge watching Netflix

Veteran tip for band camp/school: Be passionate about what you’re studying. Class becomes so much more rewarding when you’re genuinely interested in what you’re learning about.

Coke or Pepsi? – Neither. I’m more of a Smart Water type of person.

Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses, or one horse sized duck? – One horse sized duck. Quack quack!

Favorite thing about marching band: Getting to hang out with your best friends every day and make music

Favorite activity outside of band: Video games and eating too many pints of Ben & Jerry’s

Veteran tip for band camp/school: Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! Talk to people you don’t know, join a club you haven’t done before, just be as adventurous as possible.

Favorite thing about marching band: Making friends with people I never would have even met otherwise

Veteran tip for band camp/school: Stealing food from the dining halls is not only accepted, it is encouraged.

Describe your section in 6 words: BEST HORN ANGLES IN THE BAND

Would you rather fight one horse sized duck or 100 duck sized horses? The horse sized duck, definitely. I’d bring it down like the rebels did to the AT-ATs in Empire.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? …a worm.
